● Young people · AI · Ideas into outcomes

Explore possible
futures. Bring
your ideas to
life with AI.

A learning community where young people turn ideas into real‑world projects through AI, design thinking and engineering innovation.

Structured AI workshops for ages 14–18, 19–24 and 25+, and learning partnerships shaped around your people and your context.

01 / WHY MOSI BEGAN

Young people bring ideas. AI opens possibilities. Education helps turn them into outcomes.

Organising hackathons brought us into contact with ambitious young people full of ideas. It also showed us how much the right teaching, structure and support can matter when turning an idea into something real.

02 / OUR TEAM

Different minds, connected in practice. Based in the United Kingdom, working across the UK, Geneva, Hong Kong and mainland China.

  • Alex Xi

United Kingdom — AI engineering & technical teaching

Co-founder. Imperial College London × Royal College of Art.

Guest lectures and workshops at five universities, including HKUST.

  • Atahualpa Badillo

United Kingdom — Futures design & systems thinking

Core team. Royal College of Art · IED Madrid, Programme Leader.

Teaches futures-led design and systems mapping.

  • Tiffany Tin

United Kingdom & Geneva — Futures design & public communication

Co-founder. Royal College of Art × United Nations.

Public communication in the United Nations human rights context.

  • Susie Zou

Hong Kong — Programme design, event planning & partnerships

Co-founder. Nanjing University, School of Foreign Studies.

Co-founder of Nankathon and Guikesong, more than 1,200 participants.

03 / OUR LENSES

Begin with people. Learn by making.

Design, futures, systems and pluriversal intelligence — four ways of looking at one idea, and the four lenses a MOSI project is built to protect.

04 / WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE LEARN

Practical skills, and the judgement to use them

Innovation engineering and AI teaching provide the practical skills; futures-led design thinking helps students question assumptions and consider the consequences of an idea, and public communication helps them explain who it is for and why it matters. Along the way they learn to imagine more than one possibility, to collaborate, to build and test a working prototype, and to reflect on what it changed.

05 / THE LEARNING CYCLE

The energy of a hackathon. Mentors at every step.

Mentor-led AI workshops, student-owned ideas. We provide the structure, teaching and technical support for young people to develop and demonstrate their own work.

Hackathon energy, with teaching built in: bring a question; leave with something you can show.

06 / STUDENTS AND OUTCOMES

See what an idea can become.

Every project ends in something real — a digital tool, an interactive prototype or a creative experience — and students leave able to explain who it is for, how it works and why it matters. The team behind MOSI has worked with more than 1,200 participants across three large-scale hackathons, and that is where the teaching was tested.

07 / OUR OBSERVATION

What makes so many young people choose to come together?

  • Start What catches your attention, and what would you like to change?
  • Map How do people, needs and actions connect — and where can AI lend a hand?
  • Share Who is it for, how does it work and why does it matter?
  • Across three hackathons — Guikesong in Guizhou, Nankathon 2025 and Nankathon 2026 — we kept returning to this question, and to one answer: in an AI-enabled world, we still need a shared table. Somewhere to ask a question, meet a different perspective and work through uncertainty together.

Our skills. Shared in service.

08 / OUR PROGRAMMES

One question. Four hours. A first possibility.

From a first workshop to an ongoing training partnership, we shape the learning around your people, your context and the challenges you want to explore.

  • MOSI Workshops

Explore ideas and build working prototypes, in mentor-led workshops designed around a clear project outcome.

    Ages 14–18, 19–24 & 25+
  • Learning partnerships

Co-designed with your institution and grounded in your students, your context and the resources you can access.

    For education partners
  • Ideas in practice

The purpose, technical process and testing behind each project — the question, the system, the prototype and what we learned.

    Project showcase
  • Corporate training

Practical AI skills for your team: AI confidence and critical judgement, systems thinking and workflow design, hands-on prototyping.

    For teams & organisations
  • 4 hours — a half-day discovery workshop, a focused first pilot designed together
  • 3 days — a three-day innovation studio, from an initial idea to a tested prototype
  • 1 question — every workshop starts from something the learners care about

09 / THE NAME

Learn. Make. Matter.

One idea, held together by everything young people do: explore and question, imagine and make, test and reflect.

10 / BUILD WITH US

Let’s create something that matters.

We welcome schools, universities, companies and community organisations in London, Geneva, Hong Kong and China. Volunteering is central to MOSI’s mission: we share our expertise in design, AI and engineering so that young people can access learning opportunities regardless of their financial circumstances.
